Elon Musk’s imaginative vision continues…
The Hyperloop One transportation system tested successfully on May 12th 2017.
A futuristic transportation system that will allow passengers or cargo to be propelled at near-supersonic speeds inside a vacuum tube has declared its first successful test moving the idea one step closer to reality.
The Hyperloop concept is the brainchild of entrepreneur Elon Musk – you know… that guy, the inventor, engineer and visionary who is also involved in: x.com, PayPal, SpaceX, Solar City and Tesla Inc. to name a but a few.
Will this be the future of transportation as we know it and will these new ideas challenge traditional methods and our push a new way of thinking? Could it eventually replace or complement aeroplanes, trains, trucks – even the car? Keep an eye out for Hyperloop One and similar projects around the world.
Apparently Elon Musk floated the idea in the public domain – he basically gave the idea away for companies to explore and develop. Amazing achievement!
See Hyperloop One website and blog.
At 750 miles per hour – a trip from London to Edinburgh will take approximately 50 minutes. It currently takes about 4 hours and 20 minutes by train. If this technology is perfected as quickly as is being suggested – maybe HS2 could install it? Just a thought or is it just a pipe dream?
