It’s that time of year again – Wimbledon is upon us – arguably the most famous tennis tournament in the world. I noticed a report recently about how technology is being used to help bring the famous tennis brand to even more fans around the world.

IBM is a big partner and information technology supplier for the tournament providing all of manner of statistics and analysis via ever expanding digital platforms.

So, other than the revenue generated from broadcasters and sponsorship, we now have a new breed of tech’ savvy users to encourage via apps and digital access – and the use of new technology is paving the way! So I will be taking a longer look at these alternative companies to see if there is an investment opportunity for the future.
