Uber jumps on electric vehicle bandwagon to fight air pollution!

Uber announced a £150 million fund to tackle UK air pollution and offer a diesel scrappage scheme. They want to encourage their drivers to switch to electric or hybrid vehicles.

Their aim is for all vehicles in London using its uberX service to be 100% hybrid or electric by 2019 with the remainder of the UK to reach the same standard by 2025.

Licensed Uber drivers will have access to a fund that will contribute to the cost of vehicle upgrades.

Didn’t I also hear Uber were developing a self-driving Uber taxi?

Go Uber!
