Central bankers head to Jackson Hole

News

Central bankers head to Jackson Hole.

Federal Reserve chair, Janet Yellen and European Central Bank President, Mario Draghi et al, will be meeting this Friday to make their eagerly anticipated speeches at Jackson Hole.

Debate about QE roll back, interest rates and inflation will presumably take centre stage. The US is preparing to pare back its $4.5 trillion it has on its balance sheet. Will the ECB do something similar? Investors will be keen to hear these speeches.

Let’s see what the markets make of it? Global markets have edged lower so far today – it’s generally calm at the moment.

I believe I saw a notification that Mark Carney will not be attending.
