Energy price increases

Centrica PLC – British Gas to you and me, have announced price increases of around 12.5% – Apparently this increase is based on ‘lower’ wholesale energy costs, higher distribution costs and government policy? ‘Lower wholesale’ costs – and prices still go up? Is that right?
If you check back through my blog – look up ‘Octopus Energy’ or follow this link ‘Saving on our energy bills’. I switched to them in 2016 and have today taken up a new twelve month fixed deal. As a direct comparison with British Gas (exactly the same usage at current prices in a fixed deal) Octopus Energy can save me approximately £250.00 over twelve months – not bad.
Make sure as always, you do your own research. When I made my comparisons I did find other slightly cheaper deals but not by enough to make me switch again. Very happy with this deal.
Go take a look: Octopus Energy
And they’re a green energy supplier too!
Just so you know – I have no affiliation to this company. It’s just my opinion.
