Apple iPhone is 10

Ten years ago on 29th June 2007 the first Apple iPhone went on sale – the device went on to revolutionise the world of communications technology.

I recall the reports covering the arrival of the iPhone presented with the now traditional theatrical staged managed announcement, a performance six months before its official launch.

I also remember the arrival of the Apple II, the Apple IIe and the Apple LISA. But I especially remember the Apple MACINTOSH launch – Apple MAC to you and me with razzmatazz and fanfare in 1984. The Apple MAC really did alter the perception of personal computers. And later on, of course, the arrival of the iPod and iPad all passionately driven to prominence by Steve Jobs.

In my opinion all of these Apple inventions have been technological game changers – so congratulations to the Apple iPhone – 10 years old today! I wonder what the iPhone will be like in another 10 years? Report on Apple Inc. to follow…
