Wall Street lifts on debt ceiling deal.

US President Donald Trump agreed a deal to extend the debt ceiling with the Democrats.

On 6th September congressional leaders and Donald Trump agreed to pass an extension of the debt limit until 15th December 2017. This came after Donald Trump threatened to close government down. But changed after emergency aid funding was sought for victims caused by Hurricane Harvey.

The debt ceiling is a cap on the amount the US government can borrow. Without an agreement the US would default on its loans and that’s not a good situation for anyone.
