France to explore new law to ban oil & gas production

France to explore new law to ban oil & gas production.

In a previous post I wrote about France’s plan to end the sale of new diesel and petrol cars by 2040. I notice a new plan now being considered is to introduce a law to ban the production of oil and natural gas by 2040. Most of France’s oil and gas is imported.

This is pretty significant announcement in my opinion and quite a big step. It’s inline with their commitments under the Paris climate agreement. What of oil, petrol and gas production in the future?

Electric car technology and renewable energy has to be at the heart of this policy if it becomes law.

It’s a bold proposal – let’s see where it goes!
