Hyperloop test sets speed record watched by Elon Musk

Tests held in a mile long test ‘tube’ near Los Angeles sees one of its pods propelled to 220mph (355km/h). Elon Musk first floated the concept of Hyperloop transportation system in 2013. The idea is for ‘pods’ to travel in a vacuum tube levitated by a magnetic system.

The new transportation concept is open to teams and contributors around the world. I have been following Hyperloop One team. Visit their website here.

On this occasion a pod made by a German student team won this speed test competition.
