BREXIT Millions

I don’t know if you recall during the UK 2016 EU referendum – the leave campaign travelled the UK in a red bus with the slogan plastered down the side stating, ‘We send the EU £350 million a week – Let’s fund the NHS instead – Vote Leave’.

If, like me, you wondered at the time if the ‘leavers’ exaggerated their claims to gain political points – recent analysis of these figures suggest that they may have!

I have seen quotes of: £156 million per week, £252 million per week and £272 million per week. These figure contrast starkly with he £350 million used during the referendum. So, which is correct?

Not the £350 million per week it would appear – because after the UK rebate is deducted and minus some of what is spent in the UK – it is clearly much less than this figure! The £350 million per week used by the ‘leave’ campaign arguably isn’t the right figure – nothing like it! Wasn’t this bound to have had some influence (amongst others) on voters decision making processes at the time. I think so.

Just another possible political deception in the long running BREXIT saga?

My guess is that the NHS is unlikely to see any of this money anyway – whatever the real amount is!
