A list of electric car manufacturers

Here is a list of some of the electric vehicles currently available – (no hybrids) – and by no means not an exhaustive list:-

Tesla: Model X, Model S & the new Model 3
BMW i3
Volkswagen: e-Golf & the e-Up!
Renault Zoe
Renault Twizy
Nissan: Leaf & e-NV200
Smart ED
Mercedes-Benz B Class Electric Drive
Ford Focus Electric
Hyundai Ioniq
BYD e6
Chevrolet Bolt
Fiat 500e
Kia Soul EV
Renault Kangoo ZE
Mitsubishi I MiEV
Peugeot iOn
Lightening GT
Honda Fit EV
Citroen C-Zero
Chery QQ3 EV
Venturi Fetish – supercar

The ‘Look’ of my electric car is important to me. It can’t just be the same as older combustion engine designs.

I’m beginning to think that when the price is right and the design and look of the electric car I want to buy is right too – I will then make my first electric car purchase. I don’t really want my electric car to look like its older combustion engine re-hashed relation.

I want my electric car to be more futuristic looking – more ‘electric’ – a statement of new tech’ and at a realistic price. I don’t want it to be a regurgitated old school design. Not much to ask for then I guess?

I suppose there will always be a place for performance cars with beautiful aesthetics as there will be for more standard everyday electric vehicles for the masses. I just want mine to look ‘electric’ – even as a mainstream basic everyday working vehicle.

Come on designers

The best looking electric cars so far in my opinion are the: Hyundai Ioniq, Lightening GT (supercar*), Venturi Fetish (supercar*) and the Tesla range – still someway to go though for the mainstream market.

Listing supercars as favourites is a bit unfair really! But I like them.
